Our Mission
The Still Waters Church English Language Learning Center (ELLC) is an institution dedicated to excellent English instruction, cultural adjustment assistance, and spiritual growth in a supportive environment. We educate English students regardless of their language background or beginning level. We also offer opportunities for students to practice their new language abilities outside of the classroom in a secure environment with supportive peers.
We at Still Waters Church believe that CHRIST Culture is to love all people regardless of their nationality, race, economic status, or ability, and this belief is echoed in our school as well.
Master of Arts (M.A.) in Applied Linguistics with emphasis on Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language, Georgia State University
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Human Development with a minor in both Theology and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Lee University
12 years of experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in both private schools and universities
All instructors have been trained in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language as well in the spiritual and cultural issues that affect students coming from another country.
Our Courses
We currently offer three course choices. They are private instruction and tutoring, test preparation, and conversational English.
Private Instruction and Tutoring: We offer one-on-one instruction in all five content areas of English (reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar), levels 1-6. We tailor the course and each lesson to fit your specific needs. We also offer tutoring in specific areas of English that the student requests.
Course fee: $40/hour20% Off Special! $32/hour Course time: by appointment
Test Preparation: We offer instruction in the following tests.
TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication)
Conversational English: We offer a conversation course where various media is brought in (news stories, books, video clips, etc.) to provide conversation topics for the class. We also introduce different varieties of English and how to understand and use idioms and slang.
